Simon Schwarzwald

At the age of seven, I began with intensive judo and jujutsu training.

In addition to extensive martial arts training, including many workshops of rather exotic martial arts, I learned to handle a variety of weapons.

Especially the strong character aspects of such a training have shaped me for my professional career, as stuntman and artist. Respect for his environment, discipline and perseverance are important virtues for true martial artists.

Simultaneously, I was very into gymnastics and all kinds of acrobatic movements including dance. Hence, I quickly became self-employed as an acrobat and dancer.

My interests in a wide range of disciplines, has made me a versatile and flexible stuntman and artist. Besides that, I´m living a strong passion for urban dance such as, popping and breakdancing together with classic ballet and moderndance experience. I also attained a solid foundation of various juggling skills.

While lacking a teacher in the most part, I am accustomed to autodidact new abilities quickly into my skill set. Since I was 14 years old, I’ve been active as a trained acrobatics and martial arts coach for both children and adults.

I have lead workshops throughout Germany, in France and North Carolina. Through all these activities, I have developed a calm and authoritarian personality which helps me to coordinate and choeograph action scenes on film sets, nowadays.

Remaining a safe and productive environment for all parties involved, is the major priority for me on all accounts of the productionprocess. I have an international Bachelor-of-arts in film studies at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences. There I was educated in camerawork, and editing along with sounddesign. I've learned the whole process, from pre-production, to production on set or in the studio, right down to the post-production.

But my expertise lays definitely in designing action scenes including executing them. I worked with professional stuntwomen, stuntmen and established actors, including Henning Baum, Charles Dance Tobias Licht and Peter Kotthaus and Carsten Strauch.
